The Ministry keens to increase the workshops in Baghdad and provinces and to involve the private sector in establishing workshops in accordance with quality and safety standards.
The Undersecretary for Refining and Distribution Affairs, Hamid Younis, confirmed the proceeding with the national project to increase the gas powered vehicles instead of gasoline powered vehicle, by increasing the number of specialized workshops in Baghdad and the governorates, and working to involve the private sector to build specialized workshops to install a liquid gas system for vehicles according to quality and safety standards.
During an inspection visit to one of the new government specialized workshops in Al-Doura, the Undersecretary for Refining and Distribution Affairs, Hamid Younis, confirmed that this site visit comes in line with the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayyan Abdul Ghanni during the Leadership Meeting for Operations last week.
Younis said during a site tour of the site of the new workshop that the adoption of the liquid gas fuel processing mechanism for citizens vehicles by the Ministry is an important step that will bring economic and environmental benefits to citizens, explaining that the economic feasibility comes from the price of gas processing for vehicles compared to the price of gasoline processing, which reduces the expenses of citizens.
For his part, the Director General of Gas Filling and Services Company Anmar Ali Hussein said that the Ministry is working on expanding this large national project by increasing the number of workshops installing the gas system in order to accommodate the large numbers of vehicles whose owners want to install the system, after it has received great acceptance from citizens, noting that the Ministry is considering the possibility of involving the private sector in the establishment of specialized workshops with advanced technical specifications, under the supervision of the Ministry and the company, and under strict conditions aimed at ensuring safe operation and the safety of users.
