The Ministry Undersecretary, Kareem Hattab, affirmed the ministry keenness to develop gas fields and the optimal gas investment for energy projects. This came while he presides over a meeting to discuss the development of Akkas Gas Field and starting production operation thereof.
The Undersecretary said developing gas fields is one of the ministry priorities to increase production rates through optimal gas investment, noting that Akkas field is one of the promising fields and the ministry, through its national efforts in Midland Oil Company, makes exceptional efforts to develop that field to start pumping gas to power stations as a first stage which will be followed by another steps aiming at expanding production operations.
The Deputy Director General of Midland Oil Company, who is in charge of managing the company, Qadouri Abd Saleem said that the work carried out by MOC staff continuing to fulfill the aspirations of the ministry in the development and production operations in Akass field in Anbar province.
The meeting was attended by senior officials in the company and concerned directorate in the ministry.
