New Date for Unmanned Remotely Operated Boat Trials

The date for sea trials for the operation, operation, maneuvering and control of the unmanned remotely operated boat “Fugro Pegasus” has changed.

The sea trials are now being conducted daily basis from 0900 to 1700 hours local time, until further notice at Khawr Al Bazam, inner of Al Mirfa Port Limits and adjacent waters.

No crew will be on board the boat which will be operated from the Local Operating Centre in Al Mirfa Port. It will not be allowed to sail at night or in restricted visibility.

All vessels navigating in the area should navigate with caution and look out for the survey boat.

Operations will be monitored and controlled by Al Dhafra Ports VTS and normal shipping operations will be maintained without disruption.

The trials were previously scheduled to finish on 10 November.
