Wintershall Dea – Follow-up of Management Practice

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Wintershall Dea and their follow-up of management practice for the follow-up of incidents. The audit was carried out from 10 to 20 May 2022.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify how, on its side, the company establishes whether applicable practice for incident follow-up is effective enough in relation to the company’s aim to avoid major accidents.

Result
No non-conformities were identified.

Two improvement points were identified relating to:
Information from investigations with a view to preventing the recurrence of hazard and accident situations
Information provided to and by follow-up of whether the management system under consideration is functioning as intended

What happens next?
We have asked Wintershall to provide their assessment of the improvement points observed. The reply deadline is set at 16 December 2022.
