Skye Renewables Energy Pte. Ltd. (“Skye Energy”), a joint venture between Idemitsu Kosan (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Shunichi Kito, “Idemitsu”) and Skye Renewables Holdings (Head Office: Singapore, “Skye”), will commence its second rooftop solar power generation project in Malaysia. Skye Energy plans to install a 0.8MWp solar system that will supply electricity to the manufacturing facility of MFS Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“MFS”) in Batu Berendam, Malacca, Malaysia.
Skye Energy, through its subsidiary Skye Renewables Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., will enter into an power purchase agreement to install a solar power generation system on the roof of the MFS, and provide the generated electricity to MFS’s manufacturing facility.
The solar system is forecast to generate over 25GWh of renewable power and help MFS avoid over 16,000 tons of CO2 during the contract lifetime1 by replacing some of their grid usage.
Skye Energy will work to further contribute to decarbonization of local communities by implementing more such projects.
