Sasol today announced performance improvements to its already highly successful environmentally friendly, ultra-low sulphur Sasol turbodiesel™, through a multifunctional additive developed at its local research and engine testing facilities.
The new additive contains a detergent which cleans up the fuel system and then keeps it clean; an anti-wear agent that protects fuel injectors and pumps from premature wear; antifoam that significantly reduces refuelling time; and a corrosion inhibitor that increases fuel protection.
Sasol chief executive, Pieter Cox, says: " Sasol turbodiesel™ has been formulated to meet the stringent lubrication demands of modern vehicle diesel engines and this advanced product will be available immediately throughout South Africa, at all Sasol Retail Convenience Centres and selected Exel filling stations."
Sasol is the only oil company in South Africa with sophisticated Highveld and sea level fuel research and engine testing facilities.
Sasol launched Sasol turbodiesel™ in 2002 with a sulphur level content of 0,05% which is significantly less than the legislative requirement of 0,3% sulphur. The product meets international performance requirements and contains a purple dye for easy identification.
