Baker Hughes announced Monday that Pan American Energy Corp, a large integrated energy company in Argentina, has agreed to support the development of Leucipa™, Baker Hughes’ new automated field production solution, including a pilot implementation of the solution in their operations. Leucipa is designed to help oil and gas operators proactively manage production efficiency while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions.

“Our industry has envisioned automating field production for many years, driving more intelligent and proactive operations,” said Maria Claudia Borras, executive vice president of Oilfield Services & Equipment (OFSE) at Baker Hughes. “Leucipa goes beyond typical data collection and analysis with a software solution that focuses first on the specific outcomes that an operator wants to achieve – a clear differentiator. We are excited to have Pan American Energy as a launch customer for this industry-changing solution, and we applaud their commitment to leading the industry with a digital first mindset.”

Leucipa was developed after comprehensive research was conducted with key players within the energy industry. It offers a personalized experience designed to fit each user’s desired outcome – by field, by organization, and by business demands. Reservoir expertise is integrated with production insights to form unparalleled analysis, insights, and real-time recommendations. Traditional complicated data platforms are replaced with an ecosystem where data is always available, offering fast, simple, and scalable accessibility.

“Pan American Energy has a long history of working with Baker Hughes and is pleased to support the piloting and development of Leucipa™,” said Cristian Sarhan, General Manager, Engineering & Technical Production Assurance, Pan American Energy.

Leucipa has been designed by a team of domain experts, including Baker Hughes and discipline leaders in cloud technology and industrial data transformation.
