Mariners are advised that turbine blade maintenance operations are due to be carried out by technicians working from the vessel NR Panther within the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm off the North Wales coast from April – September 2023.
Summary of work
Rope access technicians are due to be carrying out maintenance operations at approximately 40 wind turbines in the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm array between April and September 2023. The first 16 locations can be confirmed and are listed in the Notice to Mariners that can be downloaded here.
During these operations there is potential for objects to be dropped from the turbine. Mariners are therefore requested to:-
Give these wind turbines a wide berth of 250m when rope access technicians are deployed; and
Gain permission from NR Panther prior to access or approach within this 250m zone if it is necessary.
The wind farm operator will be providing updates on the progress of this work over the next few months.
