Hon’ble Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on 12 May 2023 extended heartfelt congratulations to ONGC on the remarkable discoveries of 'Amrit' & 'Moonga' in OALP blocks MB-OSHP-2017/1 & MBS182HDA-1 in the Arabian Sea that have marked a significant milestone in India's energy security.
Hon’ble Minister expressed his appreciation to the ONGC Team in a tweet and encouraged to fast-track pending projects and increase capex plans.
“With a major thrust on expanding oil exploration & production footprint, India’s journey towards energy self-sufficiency is making rapid strides. Congratulations to the team which discovered ‘Moonga’ & ‘Amrit’ finds in the blocks that ONGC won in the recent OALP rounds,” he said in a tweet.
During his review in ONGC Mumbai office, Hon’ble Minister also evaluated the production plans for offshore projects of the Energy Maharatna and exhorted the entire team to fast-track pending projects, resolve bottlenecks and drastically increase their capex plans.
The discoveries in OALP blocks represent a momentous achievement for the Energy Maharatna, thereby underscoring its exploration dedication to expanding domestic production and reducing India's reliance on imported oil and gas.
With these discoveries, ONGC continues its impressive streak in the OALP blocks by making new discoveries in consecutive years.
