Equinor – Njord B – Process Safety

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Equinor and its process safety for loading and unloading hoses and storage tanks on Njord B. The audit took place from 18 to 20 April 2023.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to ensure that the process safety of loading and unloading hoses and storage tanks on Njord Bravo complies with regulatory requirements, so as to reduce the risk of failures, hazards and accidents.

Result
We identified two non-conformities during the audit. These concerned:
Monitoring of barrier performance in the oil loading and unloading system
Barrier management of the process safety of storage tanks

What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report to us on how the non-conformities will be addressed.
