We are pleased to inform our clients and stakeholders that we have added a team of highly regarded software engineers to support enhancements and accelerate innovation in our leading environmental markets exchange platform. The Australian-based team includes Paul Phillips, Philip Haynes, and Rob Hodgkinson, who bring more than 100 years of combined experience in building matching engines deployed across the world.

The team has supported the ongoing development of Xpansiv’s CBL spot market technology. They will be instrumental in driving the development of new platform features and proprietary capabilities for market participants and partners.

“Having Paul, Phil, Rob on the team will not only support the evolution of the existing platform, but it will also utilize their extensive knowledge in related markets, market design and surveillance to drive innovation into the future,” said Sesh Sundaram, Chief Technology Officer, Xpansiv.

In addition to supporting CBL’s environmental spot markets, the company’s matching engine is deployed in the Aviation Carbon Exchange (ACE) spot market operated in a partnership between the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Xpansiv. Xpansiv’s CBL spot market platform has an estimated 90% share of exchange carbon offset volume and is expanding its presence in renewable energy, and new classes of digital commodity markets.

Beyond marketplaces, Xpansiv is also a premier provider of environmental market technology including registry infrastructure used to manage more than 80% of voluntary carbon credits and 60% of renewable energy certificates (RECs) globally. It also operates the largest independent platform for managing solar renewable energy certificates in North America. The company’s multi-asset, multi-registry portfolio management system was used to facilitate more than 1 billion environmental asset transfers last year.
