White Martins and Omega Energia formalized an agreement for joint participation in the Chuí Wind Farm, in Rio Grande do Sul. The partnership started in May 2023 and will guarantee 876,000 MWh/year of sustainable energy for the global leader in industrial gases. The agreement was approved by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade).
The agreement reinforces the focus of the two companies on projects aimed at clean and renewable energy in favor of sustainable development, in addition to permanent efforts to combat climate change. The target for Linde, parent company of White Martins, is to reduce absolute emissions of greenhouse gases 1 and 2 by 35% by 2035 versus 2021.
By replacing electricity from conventional energy sources with renewable energy, White Martins expects to reduce its scope 2 emissions in Brazil by 19%.
