We would like to bring to your attention on the announcement made by YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change on 14 July 2023 regarding enhancement of the Green Electricity Tariff programme and implementation of new premium subscription rate. Below are the detailed changes of the GET subscription with effect from 1 August 2023:
Customers who subscribe to GET will receive Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) waiver in their monthly electricity bill (limit up to the number of GET blocks subscribed).
The current GET premium subscription rate of 3.7 sen/kWh will end on 31 July 2023. Starting from 1 August 2023, the new GET premium subscription rate of 21.8 sen/kWh will be charged to existing and new subscription. Existing subscribers who opt to continue their GET subscription will see their GET charges prorated in their August electricity bill.
Customers can now subscribe to GET up to 100% of their average monthly electricity consumption (increased from current capping of 30%).
On 21 July 2023, all existing GET subscribers will be notified via email and given the option to maintain, reduce or terminate their GET subscription by 31 July 2023. GET subscribers who do not respond to this email will be considered as opting out, and their subscription will be terminated automatically on 31 July 2023.
