Mr. Rovshan Najaf, the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), had a meeting with Mr. Patrick Puyane,
the CEO of TotalEnergies.
The meeting hailed the long-standing and effective collaboration between SOCAR and TotalEnergies. Both parties underscored the strategic importance of their joint projects, especially in strengthening Azerbaijan's energy security and bolstering the economic development of the region. A notable highlight of the discussion was the historic significance of initiating gas production from the Absheron gas and condensate field under the Early Production Scheme (EPS) project, and the event held to mark this achievement.
In light of the directives from President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev concerning the full-scale development of the Absheron gas-condensate field, discussions were held about the work to be undertaken in this direction.
Further discussions delved into the ongoing operations and the technical and technological security systems associated with the EPS project, as well as the steps taken on the second stage development of the Absheron gas and condensate field. Additionally, the two sides discussed opportunities for future collaboration in the energy sector and other issues of mutual interest.
