- Wintershall Dea restructures company and reduces Management Board to three members
- Board function of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to be dissolved
- CTO tasks distributed to other Board functions
Hugo Dijkgraaf is resigning as Member of the Management Board and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Wintershall Dea AG as of 30 November 2023. At the same time, the Board function responsible for Carbon Management & Hydrogen, Digital & Technology, Integrated Reservoir Management, Global Exploration, Global Development & Engineering, Global Production & Operational Excellence and Major Projects will be dissolved and the tasks distributed to other Board members. Since July 2023, Business Units Mexico and Argentina have also been part of Dijkgraaf’s area of responsibility.
In January 2023, Wintershall Dea announced its complete withdrawal from Russia. As a result, the company structure will now be adjusted, and the board function of the CTO will be dissolved and the Management Board of Wintershall Dea AG will be reduced to three members.
“Hugo Dijkgraaf has made many important contributions to the company in more than 20 years and since 2019 as a member of the Management Board of Wintershall Dea. He has implemented major projects and was responsible for Wintershall Dea’s successful exploration activities and the development of the Carbon Management & Hydrogen unit. Hugo Dijkgraaf joined Wintershall in 2000 and held various technical and management positions for the company in five countries. Between 2017 and 2019, he headed Wintershall’s Norwegian operations as Managing Director. Since 2019, Hugo Dijkgraaf has been a member of the Management Board at Wintershall Dea, where he led global teams, including the operational programmes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as the project pipeline for carbon capture & storage (CCS) and gas-based hydrogen.
