On March 25, 2023, Unit 3 of my country Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station, the first "Hualong One" nuclear power unit in western China, was officially put into operation to generate electricity, marking an important step forward in the construction of my country's independent third-generation nuclear power "Hualong One" , the batch construction of CGN’s “Hualong One” has opened a new chapter.
On the basis of absorbing the feedback from the experience of Unit 3, the large project team actively explored from the aspects of technology and management, effectively promoted the realization of a number of excellent results, further improved the safety quality and construction efficiency of the project construction, and provided replicable and practical experience for subsequent projects. Guangxi Fangchengang Nuclear Power Plant is the first nuclear power plant in western China and minority areas. The project plans to build 6 million-kilowatt nuclear power units. The two units in the first phase of the project adopt the improved pressurized water reactor technology CPR1000 independently designed by CGN. In July 2010 Construction officially started on the 30th, and the first unit was officially put into commercial operation on January 1, 2016. Units 3 and 4 of the second phase of the project both adopt China's independent third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong One".
