Magzum Myrzagaliyev, Chairman of the Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" met with John Whelan, Senior Vice President of Exxon Mobil.
Actual issues related to the implementation of joint projects were discussed at the meeting. In particular, the construction works started on the Estuary Pressure Management Project/Future Expansion Project, which will allow to increase the volume of oil production in the Tengiz field to 40 million tons per year, are nearing completion.
The parties noted the importance of ensuring reliable oil export through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), as well as the fruitful work done jointly on the diversification of export routes, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTD) route.
Due to the pace of development of the petrochemical industry in Kazakhstan, the importance of the construction project of the Gas Separation Complex will increase. Currently, it is known that "KazMunayGas" has undertaken a polyethylene production project. The future plant will use ethane obtained from TCO dry gas in the Gas Separation Complex as a raw material.
Also, the progress of development of Kashagan was discussed at the meeting. It was noted that the problem of timely implementation of the stages of field development is of strategic importance.
"We highly value partnership and trusting relationship between companies. "KazMunayGas" intends to further strengthen cooperation with Exxon Mobil in a number of strategic directions," M. Myrzagaliyev noted.
