Following the success of Jemena’s innovative ‘Meet the Expert’ program across our gas network, the program has expanded in 2023 to also cover electricity connections.
The ‘Meet the Expert’ program helps to facilitate two-way communication between Jemena and retailers, strengthening relationships and delivering better outcomes for customers, explains Jemena’s Connections and Customer Initiated Construction (CIC) Manager, Chris Masson.
“It was a natural expansion of the program to cover retailers across our electricity network, given the value the program has provided to our retailer stakeholders in the gas space.
“We’ve so far held sessions with our experts and the electricity connections teams from AGL, Origin Energy and Energy Australia to talk through processes and answer any questions they might have.
“In particular, we want to build on our strong relationships with our retail stakeholders and ensure they have the opportunity to learn more about the technicalities of electricity connections,” he said.
Chris said that Current Transformer (CT) metering for larger connections would be the focus on upcoming ‘Meet the Expert’ sessions given interest in this topic from retailers.
“We want to meet the needs of our customers and it’s clear to us there is a desire from them to learn more about how and why we do things.
“This program focuses on deeper learning and engagement from both retailers and Jemena as an electricity distributor. We’ve had positive feedback from retailers about the program, and our ultimate aim is to improve understanding of the customer journey, enable more efficient processes and improve the overall experience for retailers and customers,” he said.
