Aker BP Receives Consent for Use of Facilities at Alvheim

The Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway (PSA) has granted Aker BP consent to use facilities for the production of the Kobra East and Gekko (KEG) discoveries at the Alvheim field.

Alvheim
Alvheim is a field in the northern part of the North Sea, west of Heimdal. The field includes six deposits; Kameleon, Boa, Kneler, Viper, Kobra and Gekko. The water depth in the area is 120–130 metres. Alveim was discovered in 1998, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 2004. The field has been developed with subsea templates tied to a production ship (FPSO). Production started in 2008.
