The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Equinor concerning how they ensure that experience and learning from major modifications lead to improvement in HSE. The audit was conducted between 12 June and 22 September 2023.

Objective
The objective was to examine how Equinor collects, safeguards and disseminates experience and learning and ensures their application, so as to contribute to the continuous improvement of HSE.

Result
We identified one non-conformity concerning the follow-up of elements of the management system.

We also identified two improvement points. These concerned:
A failure to collect and process all relevant learning
The application of experience in the company’s own activities

What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report to us on how the non-conformity will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points identified. The reply deadline is set at 13 December 2023.
