Dr.Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Oil and Environment Affairs Minister, Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Luigi Di Maio as EU Special Representative (EUSR) for the Gulf Region, on the sidelines of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), hosted by Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The minister lauded the existing relations between Bahrain and the EU, affirming the kingdom’s interest in broadening cooperation with the European Union across various fields that serve common interests.
The two sides discussed opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation in several sectors, including environmental, energy and climate.
Luigi Di Maio praised the growth of the Bahrain-EU relations, wishing the Kingdom continued success in contributing to achieving a qualitative shift in the global climate action process and enhancing efforts to combat climate change.
