Aker Solutions is set to broaden its footprint in Poland with the establishment of a new company aimed at supporting project execution in Poland and various locations in
Norway and internationally.
The new Polish venture, Aker Solutions Poland Sp. z o.o., will leverage Aker Solutions' existing presence and decades-long collaboration with Polish yards and engineering companies.
Having a substantial order backlog and foreseeing increased activity in the oil & gas and renewables sectors in the upcoming years, Aker Solutions acknowledges the crucial role that Polish yards and engineering firms play in the successful execution of substantial energy projects. This collaborative partnership is positioned to continue in the future.
"The establishment of the new company aligns with Aker Solutions' growth ambitions and will significantly enhance our presence in Poland," said Magnus, Sturla, Executive Vice President, New Build.
"Functioning as an engineering and project resource hub, the company will support our project activities not only within Poland but also for Aker Solutions' projects in Norway and our international locations."
As Aker Solutions experiences an uptick in project activity, the demand for personnel with expertise in project management, fabrication engineering and construction support is on the rise.
"Poland has a strong industrial tradition. For many years, we have relied on the competence and capacity of Polish companies and skilled workers for fabrication services both in Poland and at our Norwegian yards. Given Poland's strong capabilities in energy and construction projects, it will remain an important part of our execution model," Magnus stated.
Kwiatek, Bartlomiej — a seasoned professional with extensive experience in yards and offshore business for both oil & gas and renewable energy projects — will assume the managing director role once the company is officially in operation.
Our Polish Aker Solutions company will be organized as an integrated part of Fabrication Engineering & Scope Management in the PMEE organization of our New Build segment.
The new entity's office location in the Tricity area is yet to be finalized, however recruitment for various engineering and relevant personnel roles will commence as soon as necessary formalities are completed.
