The largest domestically produced ethylene plant in China, the 1.2 million tons/year ethylene plant of Guangdong Petrochemical, has been operating continuously for 316 days. In the first year of operation after the unit was put into operation, the cumulative output of ethylene products reached 1.028 million tons.

In the process of increasing the unit load, the unstable supply of raw materials puts greater pressure on ethylene production. In this regard, the company established a research team, focusing on refined operation management, starting from various operating parameters, conducting in-depth industry benchmarking, optimizing operations, and the operation of the device has become increasingly stable and efficient, with a single-month ethylene yield of up to 43.25%. The monthly energy consumption is as low as 529.58 kilograms of standard oil per ton, which is the best among similar devices in China. The longest operating period of a single gas furnace is 101 days, and the longest operating period of a single liquid furnace is 84 days. The thermal efficiency of the cracking furnace is 94.7%, reaching the industry-leading level. At present, the ethylene unit has started operating at full load with "8 furnaces", with a maximum daily output of 4,015 tons.
