The three-day "2023 Photovoltaic Industry Annual Conference" grandly opened in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province. JA Solar was invited to attend the event and discuss many hot topics in the photovoltaic industry with guests and representatives from industry authorities, industry organizations, well-known experts and photovoltaic business leaders.
At this conference, Sun Guangbin, deputy secretary-general of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association and senior vice president of JA Solar Technology, was invited to chair a sub-forum. Zhang Jun, director of the Product Technology Department, and others were invited to attend various theme forums.
Work hand in hand with the photovoltaic industry chain
At this industry annual conference, Sun Guangbin, senior vice president of JA Solar, was invited to chair the "Photovoltaic Supply Chain Supporting Development Forum." During the period, Sun Guangbin said that my country has now formed the most complete photovoltaic industry chain in the world, and the "three new things" including photovoltaics have become new drivers of foreign trade growth. From January to October 2023, the total output value of my country's photovoltaic industry exceeded 1.3 trillion yuan. During the same period, my country's total photovoltaic product exports (silicon wafers, cells, and modules) were approximately US$43 billion.
Against this background, my country's photovoltaic industry has also ushered in a new stage of high-quality development. For example, in terms of auxiliary materials, at present, back silver and aluminum paste have been fully localized, and the localization process of p-type battery paste is also steadily advancing; in the battery link, the efficiency of photovoltaic cells has repeatedly reached peaks, such as TOPCon, heterojunction, etc. Industrialization technology is also accelerating.
However, my country's photovoltaic industry also faces many challenges due to factors such as energy crisis, trade complexity, and extreme weather. However, as long as the entire photovoltaic industry chain is united and jointly maintains the stability and healthy and orderly development of the industrial chain and supply chain through continuous technological innovation, the photovoltaic industry is bound to continue to maintain a high-quality development trend, and the "double carbon" goal will surely be achieved at an early date.
Explain the characteristics of advanced photovoltaic products
During the annual conference, Zhang Jun, Director of JA Solar's Product Technology Department, was invited to attend the "Photovoltaic Application Ecological Innovation and Development Forum" and gave a report titled "High-efficiency Module Technology Innovation Trends and Product Value".
Zhang Jun conducted an in-depth analysis and discussion from the development trends, current situation, problems, and solutions of the photovoltaic industry and technology. He said that global photovoltaic installed capacity will maintain rapid growth in 2023, component power will also maintain rapid growth, and battery technology will accelerate iteration from p-type to n-type and gradually become mainstream. Against this background, photovoltaic production capacity has ushered in substantial iterative development, and technology has also shown "a hundred schools of thought contending." On the one hand, this has promoted the progress of the photovoltaic industry, but on the other hand, it has also had a huge impact on the entire industry chain.
For example, on the production side, if manufacturers currently want to implement the industry's mainstream 48/54/66/72/78 type components, they need at least three different sizes of silicon wafers, making it difficult to unify the "various" sizes of silicon wafers and components in the industry. . At the same time, current mass-produced photovoltaic cell technologies are becoming increasingly diverse, but there are no clear application scenarios, making it difficult for customers to choose.
In addition, in the component sector, most of the industry currently achieves high power through high voltage or high current solutions. However, regardless of high voltage or high current, it has an unfriendly impact on the system side. For example, large voltage will increase BOS cost, large current will cause higher power loss, etc.
Based on this, the industry is looking for solutions with better overall customer value by comprehensively considering efficiency, cost, power generation performance and reliability performance.
Faced with this market pain point, JA Solar Technology proposed an innovative solution. The company used 182mm*199mm innovative size rectangular silicon wafers combined with battery design optimization to achieve the simultaneous production of multiple high-power and high-efficiency industry standard size components with one silicon wafer. , thus taking into account customer pain points such as unified silicon wafer size, advanced cell technology and module size standardization, demonstrating JA Solar's product design philosophy of "born for customer value" and its core values ??and sense of responsibility of "customer first".
Based on this innovative solution, JA Solar launched the DeepBlue 4.0 Pro series of products, which feature higher power efficiency, better power generation capabilities, and excellent reliability. Among them, the 72-piece type module has a power of up to 635W and an efficiency of 22.8%. It is the highest power product among the 182 series products in the industry. However, its voltage and current are consistent with the 72-piece type module, and the balance is very good.
In addition, through material optimization and process improvement, DeepBlue 4.0 Pro has also launched a series of components for special scene applications such as offshore, BIPV/BAPV, etc. to meet the various photovoltaic application needs of different customers, truly interpreting the concept of "infinite scenarios, unlimited prospects, Features of advanced photovoltaic products with unlimited value.
Awarded two major certificates and on-site strategic signing
On December 15, at the "Photovoltaic Product Carbon Footprint and Carbon Neutrality Seminar", JA Solar Technology's color steel tile building-integrated component n-type module was awarded the "China Green Building Materials Product Certification Certificate" by CTC National Inspection Group. JA Solar Smart Energy Roofing BIPV Manager Yang Kun came to the stage to receive the certificate.
As the leader of the China Green Product Certification Building Materials Group, the National Inspection and Quarantine Group has been deeply involved in green building materials related fields for many years and has advanced service concepts and profound technical accumulation. The award of the "China Green Building Materials Product Certification" fully demonstrates the contribution of JA Solar's n-type modules in energy conservation and emission reduction. It is also a strong proof that JA Solar adheres to the path of green and sustainable development.
At the same time, JA Solar also won the "Contribution Award for Carbon Neutrality in the Photovoltaic Industry" issued by CTC National Inspection and Quarantine Group. Winning this award means that JA Solar's long-term achievements in the fields of sustainable development and environmental protection have been greatly recognized.
After the awards ceremony, CTC National Inspection and Quarantine Group and JA Solar Technology formally signed a green and low-carbon strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, both parties will actively implement green product strategies, promote sustainable development, contribute to building a beautiful China, and work together to help achieve green strategic goals.
Empowering a sustainable future
During the "Photovoltaic Product Carbon Footprint and Carbon Neutrality Seminar", Yao Yanyan, senior manager of JA Solar Technology's Product Technology Department, gave a report to the guests on the topic of "Photovoltaic Product Carbon Footprint and Environmental Impact Analysis".
Yao Yanyan said that in the context of the global green and low-carbon transformation, carrying out photovoltaic product carbon footprint and product life cycle assessment work is crucial to achieving sustainable development of the photovoltaic industry, improving market competitiveness, promoting technological innovation, and promoting international trade cooperation. are of great significance.
JA Solar was the first to obtain the world's first French carbon footprint PPE2 certificate in July 2023, and has successively obtained Norwegian and Italian EPDs, demonstrating its leading position in product carbon management and the low-carbon competitiveness of the entire industry chain.
In the future, JA Solar will continue to be guided by the sustainable development concept of "Green to Green, Green to Grow, Green to Great", work with partners to build a green cycle, seek green development, create a green future, and contribute to a better world. Many countries and regions supply green and clean energy to promote the world's energy transformation and green and sustainable development.
