Equinor – integrity management and condition monitoring

The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has carried out an audit of Equinor concerning its integrity management and condition monitoring of infield pipelines, risers and control cables (in respect of Exploration and Production South and Field Life Extension). The audit was conducted on 21 November 2023.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to gain an overview of the follow-up and integrity management of infield steel pipelines, steel risers and control cables. We wanted to see how Equinor follows up the integrity of the flowline systems and ensures that they take a holistic approach to safe operations in accordance with their own requirements and the HSE regulations.

Result
We did not identify any non-conformities during the audit.

We identified one improvement point concerning non-performance of preventive maintenance activity.

What happens now?
We have asked Equinor for its assessment of the improvement point identified. The reply deadline is set at 19 January 2024.
