Iraq to Boost Oil Tanker Fleet

The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil affirmed the ministry’s keenness to build a fleet of oil tankers, befitting the development witnessed by the oil sector.

This came during his meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Norwegian Bat-Series Company, Mr. Pune Phil Haucken, and his accompanying delegation.

Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani, said that the ministry seeks to build a number of oil tankers to strengthen the national carrier fleet and activate its commercial role in transporting crude oil and petroleum products, praising the role of BAT Sirius in cooperating with the Iraqi Oil Tanker Company in building the two tankers. Sumer and Akkad joined the company's commercial work.

During the meeting, ways of enhancing cooperation opportunities between the company and the national carrier were discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Director General of the Iraqi Oil Tanker Company, Mr. Hadi Salman Fadil. ?
