Equinor and Polenergia have signed final agreements with the supplier of foundations for the Baltyk II and Baltyk III offshore wind farms. The Dutch company SIF Netherlands BV will produce a total of 100 monopiles for both projects. Monopiles are key components necessary to implement investments of strategic importance for the Polish energy transformation.
The subject of the contracts is 100 monopile foundations for wind turbines, 50 pieces for each project. Their production is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2025.

The Baltic II and Baltic III offshore wind farms are becoming a reality. Most of the main contracts covering both projects have already been secured. This is a huge acceleration in the implementation of our offshore investments and a very important, positive signal for our investors. We have planned to launch 100 wind towers in 2027. Today we are taking a very important step towards making these plans a reality. We have one common goal - to use the great potential of renewable energy that lies dormant in our country. Baltyk projects will implement it, providing green energy to millions of Polish households. This is further proof that Polenergia is today the most dynamically developing energy group in Poland. Dr. Michal Michalski, President of the Management Board of Polenergia SA

After contracting all construction elements, obtaining the necessary permits and making the final investment decision, the implementation phase of the Baltyk II and Baltyk III projects will begin. Two wind farms with a total capacity of 1,440 MW will be located in the Polish exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea, approximately 37 and 22 km from the coastline.

Signing the final contract for the production of foundations for our Baltyk II and Baltyk III wind farms brings us closer to making the final investment decision. The wind farms planned for 2027 will be among the first in the Polish sea. Their launch will be crucial for national energy security, ensuring stable renewable energy for over 2 million households in Poland. Michal Jerzy Kolodziejczyk, President of the Management Board of Equinor in Poland

SIF Netherlands BV has global experience in supplying components for offshore wind farms. The contract with the company is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. The first energy from the Baltyk II and III wind farms is scheduled to flow in 2027. The commercial stage of their use is planned from 2028.

In the next phase of the development of offshore wind energy in Poland, Equinor and Polenergia are developing the Baltyk I project. The offshore wind farm with a capacity of up to 1,560 MW will be approximately 80 km from the coast. Projects implemented jointly by Equinor and Polenergia are a very important part of the Polish energy transformation.
