The Petroleum Products Distribution Company announced today, Tuesday, that it has experimented with filling fuel without human intervention, and while it indicated that all types of payment cards are available for processing at filling stations, it confirmed the work on linking the fuel card with the processing of white oil for citizens.
The Company's General Manager, Mr. Hussein Talib, said, "The Petroleum Products Distribution Company launched the electronic payment experiment in April 2023, and many failures and obstacles were addressed in coordination with the Central Bank through licensed portals."
He pointed out that "the most prominent problem that the company faced was transferring funds to the accounts of the Petroleum Products Distribution Company, and this issue was addressed at the end of this year," indicating that "the company has more than one joint that operates with electronic payment and ends the cash block."
He explained, "The company announced cards for the processing of professionals whose work is related to the product distribution company, including generator owners and agents, in addition to linking the fuel oil card to supplying the white oil product to citizens via the electronic payment card."
He added: “There is an experiment at Al-Muthanna station to end the human intervention in the processing process, as the quantity is entered into the POS device and then the quantity is transferred from the electronic payment card,” indicating that “the companies have worked to connect the fuel supplier to the POS payment device, and thus the citizen will be able to enter Quantities of fuel and payment of money without the need for human intervention.”
He pointed out, "We will continue to complete the process of cash circulation and digital transformation in the Petroleum Products Distribution Company and for all joints, as the fuel filling station agent is only equipped with an electronic payment card, and during the first quarter of the current year, most cash circulation operations and all departments will be terminated."
He noted that "the lines and annual statistics showed that electronic payments were about 10 billion dinars, while today in Baghdad only, which constitutes about 50 percent of the company's activity, it has reached about 250 billion dinars."
He called on “citizens to acquire an electronic payment card,” indicating that “all cards are available for processing at filling stations, as procedures have been facilitated for citizens by establishing service centers spread across the stations that issue cards in real time, in addition to addressing any problems facing the citizen inside.” Packing station.
