Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (“Eurus Energy”) announced today that Eurus Tokoro-Notoro Wind Farm LLC, a group company of Eurus Energy, has completed construction of the “Eurus Tokoro-Notoro Wind Farm” (capacity: 27.35MW) in Kitami City and Abashiri City, Hokkaido, and its commencement of commercial operation on March 11, 2024.
Although Eurus Energy group operates 15 wind farms throughout northern, central and southern Hokkaido, this marks our first time to develop a wind farm in the eastern Hokkaido area.
The “Eurus Tokoro-Notoro Wind Farm” consists of 7 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy S.A. wind turbines, each with an output of 4.3 MW, in Tokoro Town, Kitami City and Notoro, Abashiri City. All electricity generated will be sold to Hokkaido Electric Power Network Inc. It is expected to generate electricity equivalent to the power consumption of approximately 16,000 average households and reduce CO2 emissions by 30,000 tons per year?1.
With the start of operation of the “Kabaoka Wind Farm” in February 2024, the scale of Eurus Energy’s domestic wind power generation reached 1,000MW (1GW). Moreover, with the start of operation of the “Eurus Tokoro-Notoro Wind Farm”, Eurus Energy’s wind power generation in Hokkaido alone has exceeded 500MW, reaching 522.39 MW. Eurus Energy is steadily contributing to the Japanese government's goal of introducing wind power generation to realize carbon neutrality by 2050.
Based on our corporate philosophy of “Helping to preserve the global environment by disseminating and expanding clean energy technologies” and our corporate vision of “Develop with local communities and maintain the trust of society”, Eurus Energy group will continue to work on further expansion of wind power generation and contribute to global environmental conservation and the creation of a sustainable society.
