The Urea Training Simulator can be used for training and certification of both new and experienced operators. Other applications are in the testing, evaluation, and improvement of procedures and in optimization of overall plant operation and safety. The Urea Training Simulator comprehends all the main equipment, instrumentation, controls, logics, and advanced process control found in a Stamicarbon urea plant based on Urea2000plus™ technology with either pool condenser or pool reactor.

All process models are fully real-time dynamic and cover the complete operating window, allowing practicing of start-up, handling of both normal and abnormal operations and shutdown of the plant. The operator controls the simulated plant by means of the Process Studio® DCS emulating process interface, comprising graphics, faceplates, alarm and trend displays similar to those of a real DCS.
