Foster Wheeler Corporation was formed in 1927 from a merger of the Power Speciality Company (which replaced Water Works Supply Company, created by the Foster family in 1884) and the Wheeler Condenser & Engineering Company, whose roots go back to 1891. The corporate headquarters were originally in New York City but later moved to New Jersey.
The company comprises two business groups:
The Global Engineering and Construction (E&C) Group and The Global Power Group.
Foster Wheeler is a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier focusing on safely delivering cost-effective, technically-advanced services, facilities and equipment that meets or exceeds Foster’s clients expectations.
Foster Wheeler was the first contractor to establish a single Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management system that provides the controlling mechanisms necessary to assure a unified approach to management control.
