Chiyoda Corporation

CHIYODA Corporation, established in January 1948, was born with the enthusiasm of Mr. Akiyoshi Tamaki, who had been a manager of the construction division at Mitsubishi Oil Co., Ltd., which was substantively liquidated just after World War II. In May 2005, Chiyoda became the first engineering company in the world to be included in the prestigious FTSE4Good Index Series of socially responsible companies selected by FTSE (Financial Times and London Stock Exchange) of the U.K. This accomplishment recognizes Chiyoda's position as a Japanese company with corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs that meet the highest global standards. CHIYODA grew with the development of the Japanese petroleum industry and went public in 1957. In 1960, the amount of its orders received exceeded 10 billion yen, and the number of employees reached to 1,400. In 1961, CHIYODA was listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Since Chiyoda Corporation is established in 1948, it has constructed numerous plants in Japan and around the world in fields including oil, gas and other energy resources; petrochemicals and chemicals; pharmaceuticals; and general industry.
