Stamicarbon is the licensing subsidiary of DSM, a leading producer of life science products, performance materials and industrial chemicals, headquartered in the Netherlands. We sell licenses, know-how and related services to the process industry. Since our establishment in 1947 we have carried out a vast number of projects in the diverse fields of fertilizers, urea, polyethylenes, caprolactam, phenol, melamine, EPDM-rubber, mercury removal from gas condensates and butadiene to ethylbenzene. After the acquisition by SABIC of the petrochemical activities of DSM in July 2002, Stamicarbon has transferred the licensing activities for polyethylenes and hydrocarbons to SABTEC, the licensing platform of SABIC.

Stamicarbon specializes in the licensing of urea, the most important fertilizer in the world. With more than 200 projects and a global share of nameplate capacity of approximately 50%, Stamicarbon is world market leader in urea technology.
