Alimak AB, based in Sweden and part of the Alimak Hek Group, manufactures construction hoists and permanent industrial elevators which support a wide range of vertical transport processes. Having delivered vertical transport solutions for over 55 years, Alimak today supplies rack and pinion construction hoists and industrial elevators to more than 60 countries worldwide.

Alimak elevatorsAlimak industrial elevators are designed to operate in harsh and demanding industrial environments, outdoors or indoors, and can be easily fitted to new and existing structures without the need for expensive shafts or elevator rooms. We have built up over 30 years’ experience in explosion-protected applications since delivering our first elevator to Kuwait National Petroleum C.O. in 1975. That elevator reached a 40 m lifting height, operating in hazardous area zone 2 environments. Manufacturing construction hoists since 1948, Alimak engineers pioneered rack and pinion drive technology in 1962. The outstanding quality and design of our products is demonstrated by the fact many of our elevators remain in operation after 25 years of service.

Our extensive expertise in providing explosion protected elevators delivers real benefits to the petrochemical industry, including improved productivity in hazardous areas such as oil refineries, chemical plants and at LNG terminals. We delivered the first Alimak elevator unit to the offshore industry in 1974 for installation on an Aker H-3 design semi-submersible. Since then, hundreds of Alimak rack and pinion elevators have been installed on derricks, in hull columns, outside platform modules and underneath helicopter decks. They complement potentially hazardous stairways and ladder-ways to provide convenient access to pump and machine rooms and other critical areas.
