The mission of Inpex Corporation is to secure a stable and efficient supply of oil and natural gas for Japan, a nation poor in energy resources. INPEX was established in 1966 as a pioneering Japanese company to promote the development of oil resources in an international context.

Inpex Corporation has steadily and actively engaged in exploration and development in many promising regions around the world: Indonesia and Australia, as our core areas, as well as the Caspian Sea, the Middle East and South America. Inpex Corporation is the largest supplier of natural gas to the Bontang LNG Plant in Indonesia, one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world.
