Primary Flow Signal, the leading designer and manufacturer of innovative, durable, and accurate flow-metering solutions, has published a technical whitepaper on accurate low flow rate measurement meters using specially-designed differential pressure type flowmeters.
The paper outlines the reliable system accuracy performance when using a low Reynolds number Venturi meter, like the PFS-HBX-1, and a smart differential pressure transmitter on low and ultra-low flow applications. The low flow rate measurement meter provides an advantage over other flow measurement technologies, such as magnetic and ultrasonic meters, which suffer from poor accuracy performance due to low line velocity conditions. Additionally, wide range flow metering can now be accomplished by selecting the right differential pressure transmitter, including multiple transmitters for wide range applications.
“It was important to us to write this paper to help better explain the process of improving low and ultra-low flow applications.” said Bruce Briggs, President of Primary Flow Signal. “These aren’t straight-forward measurement applications. The key to an effective design solution is based on a step-by-step analysis of the application conditions and a keen understanding of the accuracy performance goal.”
PFS’s metering solutions are designed and manufactured in the United States by the industry’s largest team of specialized hydraulic engineers, backed by extensive laboratory and field testing, ISO 9001-2008 certification, and efficient vertically-integrated facilities. PFS’s products, including differential producing Venturi, WedgeType™, orifice plates, and PTC-6 primary flow elements, deliver a level of differential metering accuracy, reliability, and versatility, coupled with unparalleled engineering support, simply not available from other metering solutions.
